These gym benches date to around the mid to late 1980’s and came to us straight from a school in Leicestershire. A good size in both length and depth means the shoe tray can comfortably fit adult size shoes, as well as taller ankle boots. Steel legs and tray with a good solid beech slatted top means the bench has a nice solid weight and feel to it – not like modern reproductions. These benches already look great but just age up even better.
The benches have all the superb old school styling you could want and a really good size. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement. We have a number available in this size, one at 240cm width and one at 260cm width. If you wanted a bespoke width please get in touch.
We also have lot of original mid century gym hooks in stock (original black or chrome ones from the 1970’s and 80’s, mid Century painted ones, mid Century stripped ones, numbered, on back boards etc. etc.). This gym/ changing bench dates to the 1980’s and is a fantastic size and design. It is a super size and design for clearing the hallway or boot room. The size is generous but not over sized and difficult to accommodate. The hooks are set at adult height, not children’s. With twelve very nicely designed double hooks it offers SO much hanging space. The wooden seat has some gentle ageing and wear to prove its age and authenticity. Superb old School Retro styling with heaps of practicality!
