Read moreOriginal Early 20th Century HMV Cabinet in Walnut
£0FREE Shipping on this item within 10 working days. Far afield and rural areas will incur a charge.
A stunning and pretty rare example of an original HMV Gramophone cabinet. We estimate this cabinet was originally handmade in the 1930’s (HMW was founded in 1921 in Oxford St. London). It is presented in beautifully aged and carved solid walnut with superbly book matched walnut veneer to the doors and top. Originally it would have housed a fully working gramophone but this was long gone when we purchased it for renovation. We left the interesting parts of its heritage with some switches and switch plates. We fully cleaned and gently restored the walnut exterior and fully painted out the internal lower cupboard section (in Farrow & Ball Wevet Estate Eggshell).
We adore the coloru and grain of the walnut and the superb detail to the carvings on the legs, frame and book matched veneer. Quality touches throughout. This would have been an incredibly expensive gramophone when new. Probably one of HMV’s most expensive pieces. It now offers many options as a bookcase, a drinks cabinet, a media unit, TV stand etc. The choice is all yours.
Own a beautiful piece of UK social history and a very stylish antique to cherish. Try to find another one in this style! We couldn’t.

£0FREE Shipping on this item within 10 working days. Far afield and rural areas will incur a charge.
A stunning and pretty rare example of an original antique book case or drinks cabinet with beautiful astragal glazing to the doors. The cabinetry is in exceptional original condition. All of the glass in the doors is original too, along with the original internal bolts, lock and key. It was hand produced by highly skilled craftsmen around 1910-20, being typical Edwardian styling. It is rare to find such a clean and original example with three doors. This leaves plenty of beautiful storage for books, drinks, special items etc.
This cabinet is presented in perfectly aged mahogany. There are some very small cosmetic marks to the top (photographed) but we thought it best to leave as completely original rather than re-finish the top just for these very minor marks. We re-finished the back and shelf tops in Farrow & Ball Wevet eggshell. This gave the piece a contemporary facelift to bring it bang on trend for 2021. What a perfectly gorgeous gin cabinet? It would be very hard to find a more beautiful example than this?

£0FREE One man Ground Floor Delivery on this item within 10 working days generally. Some more remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
An original solid oak cupboard with 27 gorgeous drawers to the upper section. It is difficult to date this piece exactly but we estimate it was hand made in the 1940’s to 1950’s in an Edwardian/ Art Deco style. It is very well made from solid oak to the outer frame and doors, with mahogany drawers in the top section. All of the drawers have quality dovetail joints, again reflecting the quality of the piece when made. We adore the drawers, and the cute handles to all of the drawers. The drawers are very clean inside. The bottom cupboard also offers lots of really useful storage accessed via the two lower doors. There is even a shallow storage section to the very top, accessed by the hinged top.
It offers a very different, fine quality statement piece. For somebody that also needs lots of shallow drawers (jewellery? make up?) it can also be a perfect storage solution. Definitely an investment piece that will only appreciate in value.
