A stunning Arts & Crafts influence bench produced by quality craftsmen at Simpoles (of Manchester). It is solid walnut framed with beautiful turned detailing to the legs, arms and side stretchers. There is also a very nice rear shelf at the top of the bench. The bentwood seat is punch hole designed from a neo-Gothic pattern, very much reflecting the UK Arts & Crafts movement of the era. We adore the design, colour and natural patina from years of ageing and use. The bench is not too large to accommodate and would look stunning in a hallway, dining area or kitchen. Beautiful as a purely decorative piece but perfectly usable as a bench seat.

This is an original vintage linen bus blind in a great size and super vintage condition. It came from a Bus in South Yorkshire first used in 1969. We bespoke mounted the blind in an antique white thick card mount and bespoke black wooden frame. With its age, size and condition the piece now offers some fantastic original vintage wall art. There are signs of use on the blind, as clearly this has been in use and rolled around many times but we would consider it in excellent vintage condition for the age. All part of its heritage and authenticity.
Such a different piece of wall art to hang wherever you choose.

A superb example of Globe Wernicke’s stacking ‘elastic’ bookcase. This is in the more rare and better quality oak veneer and radial cut oak, rather than the more common mahogany veneer ones. All glass and brass ware are original, together with the internal iron works for the ‘up and over’ scissor door lifts system. Pretty rare to see this on the Globe Wernicke’s.
Wernicke Co. produced the Elastic bookcase in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the late 19th Century (founded circa 1882) until they were bought by The Globe Files Co. in 1899. Wernicke invented the elastic bookcase and patented the designs.
Once Globe bought Wernicke the famous brand Globe-Wernicke began producing the elastic stack able book cases under patent in the USA. Thomas Turner also started marketing the design in England. Globe-Wernicke then expanded in to Canada, France, Belgium and Austria.
