A very stylish late 19th Century Victorian glazed dresser / bookcase in original oak finish. It dates from around 1880 to 1900 and has original cabinetry, glass, beautifully ornate handles, lock and key. We fully cleaned and gently restored the whole exterior then repainted the top internal section with Farrow & Ball Wevet colour paint. This has given the piece the mix of antique, rustic and contemporary. It is very stylish, subtle in design and very flexible in the colours – to match a vast array of room palletes. The colour is superb having aged beautifully over the last 120 years+.
We think it would also make a fantastic and individual kitchen / diner cabinet or a bookcase/ dresser. The piece splits in to two sections for ease of transportation and siting. The bookcase stands at 214cm tall so please check your ceiling heights carefully before purchasing. This is an impressive size that will certainly commands lots of attention.

A stunning mid century five tier stacking bookcase by Simplex. The cabinetry is in beautiful Light Oak finish. The sections are interchangeable in how you stack them (apart from the bottom and top sections). The sections are graduated in height with the bottom section being the tallest and deepest and also having the rare solid doors. The doors are all usually glass. Beautiful original condition with all original glass. So much storage that was full to the seams of books. It can now be styled exactly as you wish. A piece in this good condition with such clean lines is so flexible and so desirable. A real vintage gem!
Clean lines and mid century styling that makes a real statement. A beautiful quality piece that will only appreciate in value if looked after.

A simply stunning mid to late 19th Century Victorian glazed bookcase with original glass, internal sliding bolts, lock and key and brass handles. It dates from around 1860 to 1880. We fully stripped the piece and refinished it in original Farrow & Ball paint – Railings to the exterior with a clear wax for finish and protection. We also stripped back the interior to its gorgeous natural wood finish and then applied a Matt varnish finish for protection too. The shelves are easily adjustable or completely removable with the side support system allowing increments of approximately 2.5cm for each ‘step’.
The piece now offers all of the beautiful style and quality of an original antique bookcase but brought bang on trend with a superbly classic colour scheme. The classic styling and flexible colour scheme will fit with most styles and colour palletes. A real statement piece!

A stunning example of an early 20th Century bookcase in walnut and walnut veneer. This was produced by Cooke’s of Finsbury who produced very good quality office and home office furniture, predominantly in English Oak, since 1885. We have been lucky enough to find desks, cabinets and chairs by Cooke’s and they always sell very well. This bookcase is in truly exceptional condition, having been owned by one family from new. Amazing original condition with beautiful colour and fantastic patina to the walnut framework. The central door and top are book matched quality walnut veneer with the frame in solid wood. A heavyweight piece, reflective of the materials and craftsmanship used.

This is a beautiful example of a Minty Bookcase in a perfectly coloured and aged oak finish, dating from the 1930’s. The top section has a Minty of Oxford label, to prove it’s authenticity. Used in legal offices, accountants etc Minty was one of the finest makers of these types of stacking bookcases. This piece has three stacking sections in varying heights with a deep bottom section for storage of larger books and items such as bottles. Each section retains the original glass, has beautiful ornate handles and very rarely an original lock and key to each of the three sections. Locks have been tested and turn free and easily. Each section can be taken apart for easy transportation or relocation to another room. A great addition to any home!

This came from a private Client home in SW London where it lived through three generations, owned by the same family. It is very stylish, classic and flexible in design and very flexible to match a vast array of room styles. The colour is superb having aged beautifully over the last 120 years+.
We think it would also make a fantastic individual bookcase/ dresser or kitchen / diner cabinet. The piece is tall though and does not split in to two sections for transportation. The bookcase stands at 231cm tall so please check your ceiling heights carefully before purchasing. A gorgeous and very useful mid century stacking barristers bookcase in a walnut veneer finish. The bookcase comes in four sections for ease of transportation and positioning. It is super handy to have a solid door on one of the sections for hiding the less slightly but necessary things. The solid section could be placed above one of the glass sections if you preferred a different order. All three doors are up and over doors and all run really easily. The sections are also nice and tall for storing larger books, bottles, etc. There is also an additional drawer at the bottom. All original glass and cue brass handles. It probably dates to the 1960’s and is presented in very good original condition throughout.

A beautiful old school glazed bookcase dating from around 1920 to 1930. It is presented in original and beautifully aged quality oak throughout. The sliding doors are moved by the beautiful brass finger pull inset handles. The glass in the doors is original too. The bookcase sits atop four very Arts & Crafts inspired tapered legs. Internally, the shelves are all height adjustable or removable via the original brass adjustment and support system.
This bookcase came to us via a private school in the Cotswolds. A school full of many beautiful quality antiques. This bookcase would have been a top quality price when purchased.
Pieces such as this are very difficult to find; especially in such beautiful original condition as this one is. Grab a slice of history and make an investment at the same time.
