Read more1960s Bookcase by Staverton in Hague Blue
£0FREE Two man ground floor delivery on this piece to most UK postcodes. Further afield and more remote areas will incur a surcharge.
A completely unique original mid century glazed bookcase, produced by Staverton in 1962. This piece came to us in such a terrible state of veneer and dirt. We couldn’t save the veneer so we had to rethink a complete refurbishment and reinvention. The whole bookcase was fully stripped back and refinished in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, with a clear coat of wax for resilience and protection. The inside was fully sanded back, cleaned and re-varnished. The doors were all stripped, sanded back and refinished in Hague Blue then glazed with new reeded glass for a true contemporary finish. We love the finished piece! A real fusion of original mid century meets Contemporary practicality.
We have styled the bookcase as a mix of books and drinks cabinet but this could have so many potential uses e.g a kitchen cupboard for glass, mugs, cups etc, a spice rack and cooking ingredients store, a bathroom cabinet for towels and toiletries, a bedroom piece for hair and beauty products, the list goes on…… 🙂
Wait til your visitors see this one in your home?
