Late 1920’s Chest of Drawers in Walnut
£0FREE Shipping on this item. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A beautiful chest of Art Deco drawers dating from around the late 1920’s to early 1930’s. They are presented in a beautifully aged walnut with very unusual and pretty handles. The drawers are configured in a two over two formation offering lots of beautiful storage in four free running drawers. We believe the top would have had upstands or a small gallery fitted as there are two old marks on the top (see photographs) where some fittings would have been attached. These marks are blended very well now and are approximately 3cm long for a gauge. They detract in no way from this beautiful chest of drawers. The chest rests on solid walnut tapered legs and original brass and ceramic castor feet. Gorgeous.
This chest will look perfect in almost any room you choose. It’s a real keeper!

X Aesthetic Movement Chest of Drawers in Walnut c1880-90
£0FREE Shipping on this item. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A superb example of a two of two chest of drawers in Walnut. The chest dates from around 1880-90 and is a subtle but high quality example of the aesthetic movement influence in the UK around that time. The detailed inlays around the edges of the drawers are characteristic of the Aesthetic influence, yet are not too elaborate, and therefore timelessly styled. The whole chest is constructed of solid walnut with oak sides and bottoms to the drawer internals. The handles have been replaced at some point but they have been replaced with good quality, design and weight original brass ones, from the same period – and are very much in-keeping with the chest and overall design.
The weight of the piece and quality of carpentry show the quality the chest offers. Having four nice deep and free running drawers it is also a very usable everyday antique. Stylish, decorative but also practical.
